Flynn Fellows Present ‘Evidence-Based Practice’ Research Projects at 2025 Oncology Nursing Society’s National Conference

Five recent Flynn Fellows presented Posters on their distinguished ‘evidence-based practice’ research projects at the recent prestigious 2025 Oncology Nursing Society Congress conference in Denver, CO.

Hanna Johnson, an Emmanuel College nursing student, presented her EBP project: ‘Importance of Siblings Relationships in Pediatric Oncology/Stem Cell Transplant Patients’. “Presenting my Poster instilled pride in my research work and helped increase my confidence. The conference helped solidify my dream of being an oncology nurse and inspired me to conduct more research on other topics in the oncology world. I am incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to attend this wonderful conference.”

Dylan Krsulich, a Villanova nursing student, presented her EBP project: ‘Siblings of Pediatric Cancer Patients: Support & Coping’. “I had an incredible experience learning from experts in the field of oncology and deepening my understanding of oncology nursing. It was an honor to have the opportunity to present my Poster and I am very grateful for the Flynn Foundation’s support which made it possible to participate in this exciting event.”

Sally Hong, a Boston College nursing student, presented her EBP project: ‘Bone Marrow Transplant Diet’. “I had an amazing experience attending the ONS Conference in Denver! It was very exciting to present my EBP project. I learned so much about oncology nursing while attending all the various sessions throughout the weekend and am very grateful for this wonderful learning opportunity.”

Isabelle Stewart, a Boston College nursing student, presented her EBP Project: ‘Little Ripples: Using Acupuncture as an Adjunct to Cancer Treatment’. “Attending the ONS Conference was truly inspiring and I loved being surrounded by oncology nurses passionate about their work and eager to learn more. This entire experience furthered my dream of becoming an oncology nurse and I was excited to share my work with other nurses.”

Aimee Baiungo, a University of New Hampshire nursing student, presents her EBP project: ‘Changes in Self Identity after a Cancer Diagnosis’. “Attending the 50th ONS Congress gave me a deeper understanding of the emotional and clinical complexities of oncology care. Being surrounded by experienced nurses and hearing their stories not only expanded my knowledge but also reaffirmed my desire to make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients and families facing cancer.”
